Storyline:
Michael Hero, a powerful CEO, seeks vengeance for the murder of his grandson by offering a one-million-dollar bounty for the assassination of his grandson’s accidental killers, attracting the world’s leading assassins to the task at hand. Twenty-five years on from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels the British gangster revival is still going strong. Case in point Hitmen, the new film from writer/director Savvas D. Michael who has already made several contributions to the genre including The Bezonians, Smoking Guns, and Original Gangster. Luke (Daniel Caltagirone, Eliminators, Outpost: Black Sun) and Lauren (Lois Brabin-Platt, Bull, Red Devil) are having marital issues. But that doesn’t mean she’s thrilled when Jackie (Max Lohan, The A-List, Tonight We Die) starts hitting on her and when she mocks him, hitting her. This leads to a beating which in turn leads to Jackie’s death.
REVIEW: Truth be told, the film took way too long to really kick in, but, have some patience, and it will give you that excited concept feel. Narrated brilliantly, with explanations on who’s who and what’s what, giving a really good guide to what’s gonna be installed during the movie. Would like to have seen more from Vas Blackwood, who for me, has come on leaps and bounds in the last 10 years.
